Then another woman, dressed in a wedding gown, bursts through the doors. Derek takes her hand and runs, leaving Victoria alone before a room full of guests and two furious families.Luke cannot bear to watch the crowd turn on her. He pushes through the guests, steps onto the wedding stage, and declares, “If he won’t marry her, I will.” To his surprise, Victoria accepts. Only later that night does Luke learn whom he has offered to marry: Victoria is the CEO of the company where he works, a formidable business leader known as the “Tiger of Manhattan.”
Their sudden wedding gives Victoria a way to protect the voting rights her grandfather left in trust, but the ceremony is only the beginning. She still needs to make the marriage official before the deadline. Luke, meanwhile, is determined to live as an ordinary intern despite the powerful family background he has kept hidden from her. At work, others take credit for his achievements. At home, Victoria’s relatives judge him by his apparent lack of wealth and try to push him out of her life.
As rivals fight for control of the family business, Luke and Victoria find themselves facing stolen credit, public humiliation, dangerous schemes, and secrets within both their families. Their marriage began as an impulsive act of rescue; trust must grow while each wonders what the other has yet to reveal. Again and again, they choose to stand together when it would be easier to walk away. When the truth about Luke’s identity and the fight over Victoria’s inheritance finally comes to light, he has one promise left to keep: to give her the wedding they never had—a celebration that belongs to the two of them, with no one there to ruin it.
